Written and Directed by Sam Southward and produced by Foreal for OFFF MX. ESC. tells the story of an overworked woman, in the midst of an existential crisis, as she realises that she must refocus on what’s important.

Set in a post-apocalyptic near future, After The End is a multi-award winning, animated comedy short starring Tom Davis and Peter Caulfield. Expect lots of sex, drugs and post-apocalyptic synth rock as we discover that the only thing worse than being the last man on earth, is being the second to last man on earth. Buckle up, mankind is going out with a bang.

Milka Goodness

Welcome to the picturesque, miniature, alpine wonderland of Milka Goodness. Full of happy people, and even happier cows, we partnered with Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam to create this charming and quirky, digital stop-motion film. Working with an obsessive attention to detail, and building up layers of texture and richness, we were able to fully bring to life this beautifully crafted and captivating world.

OPPO Wrestlers

Created to celebrate the launch of OPPO’s new smartphone, the Reno 2, and produced with Mother Shanghai, Wrestlers is a high-energy spot all about texture, tactility and making an impact.

The Gruffalo Spotter

Nominated for a BAFTA for best children interactive app, The Gruffalo Spotter is an augmented-reality, animated treasure hunt that gets children and adults playing along with equal enthusiasm. Working with Magic Light Pictures and Forestry England, The Gruffalo Spotter is available free at 26 sites across the UK.

Google Cloud

Created as an installation for Google at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Google Cloud takes its inspiration from the magic and nostalgia of model train set displays in the glowing toyshop windows of the past. The interactive installation shows a beautifully connected world, full of colour, detail and humour. The experience invites strangers and friends alike to come together and hold hands, to complete the circuit and energise this bustling miniature world.

Sam Southward is a director and writer best known for his distinct character designs and his ability to combine live action and CG techniques to create truly immersive worlds. Humour and social commentary are common themes in his films, tackling poignant subject matter whilst delivering side-splitting laughs that leave his audiences speechless.

His film After The End was selected for the 2015 Annecy International Animation Film Festival and won Gold at the 2016 Young Directors Awards (YDAs) in the Film School category.

Most recently Sam has written his first children’s novel, All Fun And Games, a genre-warping adventure comedy.
